Our Story

Animation is our Passion

In July 2016 Young Animators was established to create a platform to inspire digital literacy in rangatahi through animation.

Led and facilitated by Nikora Ngaropo, students are introduced to the basic principles of 2D hand-drawn animation and 3D stop motion techniques cultivating skills which can transfer across virtual and real world scenarios. Using lego props, wire armatures, green screens, cameras, tablet technology, apps and lighting equipment rangatahi are challenged to create their own narratives working in teams.
